The Bunnies Find the Big Pumkin.

I am always drawing my pet Peter and the pumpkins I grow in my garden. I love this painting 'Halloween Bunny!' It could be used as part of a children's book illustration or card.

I drew this image last year on the eve of Halloween.

Peter Rabbit

This is my pet Peter Rabbit, I love him, I play with Peter in my garden, he loves it in the garden.

Peter has a new friend; a Hamster called Rosie.

Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood - Amanda Gilbert ©

This is my interpretation of littile red riding hood. I made this image using a watercolour base and pencil sketch on top. This is not for a children's book illustration but more designed for an older audience. This is due to the darker more scary elements inspired by Victoria Frances' work.

Welcome

I am currently studying Illustration at Plymouth College of Art. I have been drawing since  I can remember. I work mainly with themes of nature, animals and fantasy landscapes. My work is linked with the imagination of youth and the wonderment of childhood. Using watercolour, acrylic and ink fundamentally. I create illustrations which realise the magic of the natural world and take this into the realms of fiction. I am inspired by children's books and hope to use my college degree to improve my skills and professional development. This blog will archive my creative process and professional development, showcase my work as I progress through the course, and highlight the work of others which inspires me.

I am looking at book cover designs and particularly like this one by Julie Bell.
